Job Summary: The Emergency Medical Responder assists with stabilization and safe transport of patients needing emergency care. Completes incident reports in a timely and accurate manner. Required Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. Must be certified as an Emergency Medical Responder by the State of Alabama. Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR/AED First Aid certification, or ability to obtain upon hire. Must be able to lift/push up to 200 pounds; this position will assist in the evacuation of sick and injured persons during an emergency. Skills and Knowledge: Working knowledge of the University of Alabama campus and surrounding area. Functional understanding of basic equipment typically found on an ambulance. Functional understanding of communications equipment, including telephone, 2-way radios, and recording equipment.
