Certified Counselor

Location: Goochland, VA. The Virginia Correctional Center for Women program utilizes the Cognitive Therapeutic Community model while blending gender responsive and cognitive restructuring approaches.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm with a 1-hour lunch break.

Pay Rate: 27.88/hour ($58,000 annually)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field is required.
• State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC/CADC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification/license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors is required.
• Experience working in the substance abuse treatment field is preferred.
• Experience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plus.
• Experience working in Therapeutic Community model programs is a plus.

The Certified Counselor is responsible for:

• Facilitating group programming and meetings, individual counseling sessions, case management services, and clinical documentation.
• Conducting comprehensive assessments and individual treatment plans within established timeframes.
• Participating in multi-disciplinary treatment planning, case reviews, and conferences.
• Working closely with the Virginia Department of Corrections personnel to ensure quality delivery of services and promote a healing environment where people with substance use disorders can learn to live in recovery as returning citizens.
