POSITION SUMMARY :

The Ski & Ride School Programs Manager oversees administrative and operations procedures of the Sugarbush Ski & Ride School seasonal programs, staff training and race department. Assist in the reservations, sales, and face to face operations of the school with tertiary responsibilities in the Rental & Repair Shop, Summer Ops, and the Day School.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with the Ski & Ride School Director to guide and facilitate the direction, culture and quality of the Ski & Ride School.
  • Develop and schedule training to ensure quality and consistency across the Ski & Ride School
  • Design, track, and facilitate pre-season and in-season training.
  • Design and facilitate Trainer's Training.
  • Develop and implement employee safety programming and tracking.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, managing and supervising Ski & Ride School Supervisors, Leads and Instructors
  • Making critical decisions in a timely manner to resolve guest service issues, requiring clear and sometimes creative thinking and excellent communication skills.
  • Prepare check requests, expense reports, purchase orders, and other administrative tasks.
  • Participate in Resort and Industry working groups to improve departments.
  • Provide administrative support to Ski & Ride School Director and Supervisors, Day School, Rental and Repair and Summer Ops as instructed by Director of Recreation Services.
  • Staying current on resort information and events and communicating this information in an accurate and timely manner to front line staff.
  • Assist in the completion of payroll, budgeting, and other financial tasks.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School education required; college preferred.
  • 5 years as a ski/snowboard Instructor or Trainer required.
  • 2 years of supervisor/manager experience preferred.
  • PSIA/AASI Level 3 - required, education staff experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, English required.
  • Conflict resolution skills required.
  • Able to work in inclement weather required.
  • Computer skills, including Windows, Word, and Excel, proficiency required. MS Access skill desirable. RTP Management and Sales experience preferred.
  • Manager must be organized and efficient in handling office jobs such as paperwork, phone, computer work, and other administrative tasks.
  • Must be timely in response to contacts and knowledgeable about Recreation Services programs.
  • Thorough and extensive knowledge of resort wide POS and phone reservations systems.
