Ramp Service Training Specialist

Position Overview:

As Training Specialist, you will effectively conduct hands-on operational training for station employees, in accordance with The Inland Group of Companies protocols, applicable local, state and federal regulations, and those requirements mandated by our customer(s). You'll be expected to effectively partner with the Training Department and station Management to ensure that training is continuously improving and in compliance with all regulations and safety protocols.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

* Responsible for conducting and maintenance of records for all Inland Group employees and Customer mandated training;

* Conduct hands-on ground service equipment, emergency procedures and complete airport airside driver training;

* Teach any and all training including air carrier required training prior to handling customers, baggage, cargo and mail handling services, aircraft handling and loading or aircraft ground movement;

* Record training using signed class rosters using the Inland Group training record forms and retained the employee training file. Training courses will state recurrent training requirement by course;

* Conduct hands on mobile boarding bridge and ground equipment training, when not provided and recorded in the air carriers training record keeping system, must be completed using the Inland Group training record forms and retained the employee training file;

* If qualified, conduct Air Carrier training by Aircraft type and door type is the only accepted method of training for the operation of Aircraft access doors;

Required Skills and Experience:

* Prior experience in an aircraft cargo ramp operation is preferred;

* Training and leadership experience in prior positions is a plus;

* Knowledge of aircraft cargo equipment such as ULDs, cans, dollies, and tugs;

* Prior experience with K-loaders preferred;

* Loading and off-loading of aircraft cargo and passenger baggage;

* High school diploma or equivalent preferred;

* Must be at least 18 years old;

* Maintain and treat all information as confidential;

* Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives;

* Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English and Spanish;

* Must be able to verbally direct in English and Spanish;

* This position requires a employees to obtain a US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seal. Orlando CBP requires US citizenship or US permanent resident status in order to receive a CBP seal;

* A valid driver's license is required for this position;

* Bilingual a plus.

Work Environment:

* Indoor - office environment with potential for remaining seated extended periods of time, using a computer, keyboard, and mouse;

* Warehouse - physically strenuous, prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to noise (may be excessive at times), safe but potentially unpleasant odors, varying temperatures and humidity, in and around heavy moving equipment;

* Outdoor - prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to prevalent weather, dust, dirt, fuel, fumes and noise, in or around heavy equipment and moving vehicles.

Physical Demands:

* Must be able to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms, speak and hear efficiently;

* Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling;

* Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds at times.
