POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

The Program Specialist will serve as liaison between the foreign executive level delegates at the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Roswell, NM, the ILEA Presenters and ILEA Management. This role involves coordinating activities, supporting and enhancing academic symposia, managing resources, and ensuring that ILEA program goals and objectives are met.

Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities



  • Provide symposia logistical support to incoming delegates, and serve as the primary point of contact for delegates while symposia are in session
  • Maintain accountability of delegates throughout their entire stay
  • Assist delegates in obtaining medical attention as governed by ILEA management
  • Participate in all scheduled extra curricula activities with the delegates
  • Provide opening remarks, presenter introductions, and curriculum orientation for the delegates
  • Assist ILEA management with opening/closing ceremony and community reception preparations
  • Administer presenter and subject evaluations, prepare symposia schedule, and provide recommendations in developing efficient/effective improvements to assigned curriculum areas
  • Monitor the scheduling of symposia and academic initiatives, and track and report on the progress of symposia
  • Prepare and distribute materials for each symposium
  • Conduct collaborative outreach with internal and external experts (e.g., curriculum designers, symposia writers, presenters, and subject-matter experts) for various instructional materials

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years experience with academic coordination and/or logistics
  • Ability to communicate effectively and possess professional customer service skills due to daily interaction with various levels of rank, authority, positions, both military and civilians, international and domestic
  • Experience working with a diverse and often conflicting group of stakeholders on politically sensitive programming initiatives
  • Knowledge of, and skill related to the development of professional correspondence for use by project and program managers


Preferred



  • Bachelor's Degreeor higher-level degree OR a combination of education and experience which furnished the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the requirements of the position
  • Knowledge of US Government related training programs, processes and procedures
  • Background and/or experience working within law enforcement
