Senior Lab Assistant for all Oregon Regional Locations

Full-Time/Variable Shift for Day, Evening, Night and Weekend Scheduling

$1,500 Sign-on Bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment - this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Providence that begin on your first day of employment.

The Asst-Technical Lab 4 is responsible for ensuring that technical licensed staff have the ability to work at the highest level of their licensure by performing all essential duties within the technical departments that do not require licensure to perform. The Technical Lab Assistant 4 is responsible for the accurate and timely application of a variety of biomedical laboratory techniques including pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical specimen analysis and/or disbursement of laboratory data and patient results. The incumbent monitors and maintains inventory supplies, maintains workflow and communication, and provides clerical assistance to the department. The incumbent may also be responsible for a variety of instrumentation maintenance and general quality control checks for the department.

Required Qualifications:



  • Coursework/Training: 4 years college education. Courses in biological sciences, anatomy, and medical terminology preferred. Or equivalent educ/experience.
  • 4-year college education: Verifiable experience which includes proficiency in moderately complex testing.
  • upon hire: In compliance with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) criminal background check and fingerprinting may be required for position, based on assigned duties.
  • 5 years industry related experience, or A demonstrated high level of performance as a Lab Asst 2 or Lab Asst 3 within Providence including competency in lab automation and complex specimen management (for Clinical Laboratory only).
  • Demonstrated outstanding Service Excellence experience.
  • Clerical or client services experience.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Associate's degree Science. Courses in biological sciences, anatomy, and medical terminology or bachelor's degree Science. Courses in biological sciences, anatomy, and medical terminology.
  • Coursework/Training Certification from a Clinical Laboratory Assistant Program. Or equivalent educ/experience.
  • Coursework/Training Coursework in leadership. Or equivalent educ/experience.
  • Industry related experience in a high volume, acute care setting.
  • 3 years Phlebotomy, medical assisting, research, clinical laboratory experience, or certification.
  • Job experience in specimen collection, specimen preparation and equipment operation, pneumatic tubes systems and other laboratory equipment.
