THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Repairman 2 to work at the our Headquarters in Harrisburg. In this position, you will support a mission that protects natural resources and public spaces. This role allows you to work with tools, equipment, and materials that keep buildings and grounds in top condition. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role supports the Facilities Maintenance Manager by performing skilled and semi-skilled tasks across buildings, grounds, machinery, and equipment. It involves work both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in challenging weather. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Electrical Repairs: Replace lighting components, switches, outlets, and repair door hardware
  • Mechanical Support: Check heat pump systems, clean condensate lines, and assist with major replacements
  • Plumbing Tasks: Open drains, repair faucets, and help replace water lines, toilets, and urinals
  • Grounds Maintenance: Cut grass, manage weeds, and perform seasonal snow removal at assigned sites
  • Woodworking Projects: Build, finish, and repair shelves, frames, counter tops, and other structures
  • Equipment Care: Inspect, clean, and maintain tools, machinery, and grounds keeping equipment

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Temporary, Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Note: This position is designated Essential, required to work during emergencies and office closings.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
