Position Summary:

Global Power Components (GPC) is seeking Engineering Interns to support the growth of our Electrical Equipment Solutions business. Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and manufacturing leaders on real-world projects involving product development, manufacturing processes, electrical equipment, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is intended for students who want hands-on engineering experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Interns will contribute to meaningful projects while gaining exposure to engineering, operations, product development, and manufacturing execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities will vary based on project assignments and area of study but may include:
  • Support engineering projects related to product development, manufacturing, and operations.
  • Create and update drawings, models, bills of material, and engineering documentation.
  • Assist with prototype builds, testing, and product validation activities.
  • Support manufacturing process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze engineering and production data.
  • Participate in problem-solving activities related to quality, productivity, cost, and delivery.
  • Develop reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams.
  • Assist with implementation of engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support special projects as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, EPLAN, or similar tools.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or industrial environments.
  • Experience with engineering projects, design teams, Formula SAE, Baja, robotics, automation, or related activities.
  • Interest in electrical equipment, power distribution systems, manufacturing, or product development.
