Emerson Automation Solutions is expanding its manufacturing team in St. Louis and is seeking mechanically inclined individuals with basic electrical or automation experience to join as Entry-Level Wire Technicians. This is a hands-on manufacturing role focused on building, wiring, and assembling industrial control panels and cabinets in a climate-controlled production environment. Candidates should have foundational electrical knowledge, be comfortable working with tools, and be eager to develop their skills in electrical assembly and automation manufacturing.

Job Duties



  • Wire and assemble control panels and control cabinets.
  • Perform panel layout work and modifications, including cutouts and inner panel work.
  • Cut, strip, route, and terminate wires according to industry standards.
  • Install electrical components, breakers, grounding systems, and related hardware.
  • Assist with conduit bending, threading, and installation.
  • Support tubing installation, including cutting, reaming, and bending.
  • Complete wiring inside control houses and installed equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete panel builds accurately and efficiently.
  • Participate in quality reviews to ensure completed panels meet specifications and standards.
  • Continuously improve speed, accuracy, and product knowledge.



Education Requirements



  • Technical school, trade school, electrician training, or related education.



Experience Requirements



  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, professionalism, and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to learn new processes, procedures, equipment, or software as required.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety shoes and safety glasses.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Technical school, trade school, electrician training, or related education.
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles, symbols, and wiring practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics (required).
  • Familiarity with control cabinets, panel wiring, or assembly work.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools.
  • Entry-level candidates with foundational electrical knowledge are encouraged to apply.
  • Open to recent Electrical Engineering graduates interested in hands-on manufacturing work.
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and perform physical job duties.
  • Forklift experience is not required.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety shoes and safety glasses.



Physical Capabilities



  • Physical requirements vary by assignment and will be discussed during the hiring process.

  • Climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
  • Primarily seated wiring and assembly work.
  • Onsite position, five days per week.
