Rockland Trust is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Loan Booking & Funding Specialist II to join our Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately booking and funding Residential Mortgage, Home Equity, Consumer Loan, and Line of Credit products within the Bank's Horizon system. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of consumer lending products, loan operations, and loan servicing systems, along with a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and exceptional customer service. This position plays a critical role in ensuring loan accounts are established and funded efficiently while supporting internal business partners and maintaining compliance with Bank policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Review and process daily residential mortgage loan funding transactions in accordance with established procedures. Update the Attorney Funding SharePoint site and complete general ledger transactions in Horizon to fund attorney IOLTA accounts.
  • Review and process Consumer and Home Equity loan files, fund as instructed, and prepare files for boarding to Horizon.
  • Board Consumer, Home Equity, and Mortgage loan files into Horizon.
  • Serve as backup for the booking and funding of Business Banking loans, as needed.
  • Post loan disbursements and advance transactions within Horizon.
  • Maintain loan product boarding procedures and ensure compliance with Bank procedures and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Process general ledger transactions accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Perform loan servicing duties as assigned.
  • Provide superior customer service to customers, lending teams, and branch colleagues. Serve as a subject matter expert for Consumer, Home Equity, and Business Banking loan products.
  • Assist in developing and updating procedures and training materials. Provide training as requested by management.
  • Remain informed of compliance regulations, including changes and updates affecting products and systems.
  • Create test cases and perform testing related to system enhancements and upgrades.
  • Assist with mapping and testing activities related to acquisition and integration efforts.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the Encompass and Horizon systems as they relate to the booking and funding of Mortgage, Home Equity, and Consumer loans.
  • Create, maintain, and monitor reports as requested by management.

Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in loan operations, loan administration, or a comparable financial services environment.
  • Knowledge of the Horizon Loan System or a similar core loan processing system is required.
  • Knowledge of consumer lending products, loan documentation, and loan servicing processes.
  • Understanding of financial instruments related to the repayment of debt.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment while meeting critical deadlines.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex issues and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with Residential Mortgage, Home Equity, and Consumer loan products preferred.

  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; SharePoint experience preferred.
