POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Kettle Coordinator

LOCATION/DEPT: Crystal Lake Corps

REPORTS TO: Corps Officers

FLSA CATEGORY: Non-Exempt

STATUS TYPE: TFT

PAY GRADE: 402

PAY RANGE: $16.30 - $19.56

OUTCOMES

To coordinate the daily operations of the Crystal Lake Corps Christmas Red Kettle Campaign, ensuring kettle locations are appropriately staffed, employees and volunteers are supported, routes and equipment are coordinated, campaign information is accurately maintained, and operations are conducted efficiently and with financial integrity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Recruit, interview, screen, and process paid bell ringers and assist with volunteer recruitment.
  2. Maintain kettle system (Golden) for volunteers, kettle sites, schedules, routes, income, and statistics.
  3. Schedule paid and volunteer bell ringers and maintain effective kettle site coverage.
  4. Coordinate daily communication with bell ringers, volunteers, drivers, staff, and Corps Officers.
  5. Train paid and volunteer bell ringers on etiquette, safety, Army protocol, and expectations.
  6. Prepare driver routes and coordinate kettle equipment distribution, collection, and inventory.
  7. Maintain accurate kettle income and statistics and follow Corps Officer expense approval procedures.
  8. Drive assigned kettle routes each morning and evening, including transporting bell ringers and kettle equipment; resolve daily campaign issues and provide additional route coverage as needed.
  9. Other duties as assigned.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to the Corps Officers.

In contacts related to this position's duties, this individual acts as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.

PERFORMANCE MEASURMENTS

This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved.

Timeliness and accuracy of accomplishing assigned goals will be reviewed.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE



  • A High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's license/MVR clearance.

POSITION LIMITATIONS



  • This individual will only commit Army resources that have been allocated or approved.
  • This individual will keep Corps Officers informed on all critical issues relating to their area of responsibility.
  • This individual will adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • This position is required to do moderate physical work and must be able to lift and transport kettle equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to use standard office equipment, stand and walk as needed, and sit for extended periods while driving.
  • Work may take place in both office and outdoor environments, including winter weather.
  • Must be able to travel to kettle locations and drive as required for campaign operations.
  • Work hours may vary according to seasonal campaign needs and may include evenings and weekends.
  • Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters and maintains positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors. This includes resolution of conflicts in a positive manner; courteous treatment of staff, clients, visitors, volunteers, and donors; and professional and appropriate communication.
