Senior Director, Division Controller

The Division Controller serves as the senior accounting executive for a business unit of Gentherm. This role is responsible for leading all aspects of divisional accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, maintaining effective internal controls, and supporting compliance with U.S. GAAP. The Division Controller oversees the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; ensures timely and accurate financial reporting; and drives consistency in the application of accounting policies and procedures across the division.

The Division Controller also leads and develops the divisional accounting organization while identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, improve processes, and enhance reporting efficiency. The role partners closely with the division VP of Finance, Corporate Accounting, Finance, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and external auditors to support regulatory compliance, financial statement accuracy, and operational excellence. In addition, the Division Controller serves as a key member of the division leadership team and is expected to build strong partnerships with operational, commercial, and functional leaders across the organization.

• Lead all divisional accounting activities and serve as the principal accounting authority for the division which operates in more than 30 locations, in 13 countries.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC requirements, company accounting policies, and internal control standards. Also, support global teams to ensure compliance with local requirements.
• Review and approve significant accounting transactions, estimates, reserves, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Partner with Corporate Accounting on external reporting, technical accounting matters, and implementation of new accounting standards.
• Partner with Internal Audit and external auditors on audits, testing, and remediation of audit findings.
• Lead efforts to optimize financial processes and systems.
• Lead, develop, and mentor finance and accounting staff within the division.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
• Build organizational capabilities to support business growth and operational excellence.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Certified Public Accountant.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership roles.
• Experience within a publicly traded company or large multinational organization.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Experience managing financial close and internal controls.
• Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Manufacturing industry experience
• Public accounting experience, including manager-level or above responsibilities.
• Experience leading large teams across international locations
• Experience with OneStream or HFM.

Travel: Less than 10% - primarily global
