Department Information
The Center for Student Engagement is comprised of 5 areas: Civic Engagement, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Student Media, the John Lewis Student Leadership Pathways, and Student Organizations. The Center for Student Engagement empowers students to connect with peers and the greater campus community, engage in meaningful involvement, and lead with purpose and passion. The Center has a strong history of developing and working closely with Georgia Tech's outstanding student leaders. The staff members who make up the Center for Student Engagement are here to provide service and support.

Job Summary

Assist the Director-Student Engagement in delivering services and programs to students. Serve as consultant, resource, and advocate for over 450 student organizations. Advise the Presidents Council Governing Board and provide support to the SGA Joint Campus Organization Committee. Create resources for student organizations. Advise student organizations on event planning, officer transition, and campus procedures. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni and community. This position will typically advise and counsel: same as above. This position will supervise: N/A

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Duties may include but are not limited to: Serve as consultant, resource, advisor and advocate for over 45 student organizations.

Job Duty 2 -
Advise the Presidents Council Governing Board and provide support to SGA Joint Campus Organization committee.

Job Duty 3 -
Provide organizational and leadership skill development for student organization leaders and members.

Job Duty 4 -
Assist student organizations through the chartering process.

Job Duty 5 -
Coordinate marketing and publicity events such as Engagement Week and presentations at student and family orientations.

Job Duty 6 -
Maintain student organizational data and student organizational database, develop and maintain Student Engagement website.

Job Duty 7 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Student Development, Higher Education, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
Direct experience with leadership development, advising student organizations, and working with student activities and programming; Overnight travel required; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours (due to client shift schedules, project requirements)

Required Experience
Two to four years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the OrgSync platform

Experience advising student organizations or supporting student engagement in higher education.

Experience with organization recognition, registration, constitution review, or student governance.

Experience developing resources and facilitating training for student leaders.

Experience using Engage or a comparable student organization management platform.

Experience advising a student-led leadership organization.

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree

Advanced verbal and written communication skills, commitment to student empowerment, strong organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple projects. Experience supervising student staff.

Salary range: $55,000.00 - $61,000.00 Commensurate with experience
