Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Analyst - Education - NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine, Mineola.

In this role, the successful Data Analyst collects, validates, analyzes, and reports academic, accreditation, faculty, student, and institutional data to support data-informed decision-making across the medical school. The position develops and maintains dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), reports, and visualizations that support accreditation, institutional effectiveness, outcomes assessment, strategic planning, and continuous quality improvement (CQI). Using statistical analysis, business intelligence tools, predictive analytics, and emerging AI technologies, the analyst translates complex data into actionable insights for leadership. Work priorities are established by the Associate Dean for Educational Planning and CQI in collaboration with the IDIC Data Analytics Team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Collects, integrates, validates, and analyzes data from multiple institutional systems and data sources.
• Develops, maintains, and automates dashboards, reports, and data visualizations utilizing Tableau, SQL, Databricks, and related reporting tools.
• Produces recurring and ad hoc reports to support academic, operational, accreditation, and strategic initiatives.
• Develops and monitors institutional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and outcome measures.
• Performs statistical analyses utilizing descriptive and inferential methodologies, including trend analysis, survey analytics, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, and regression analysis.
• Supports LCME accreditation activities, institutional effectiveness programs, continuous quality improvement initiatives, and outcomes assessment efforts.
• Conducts benchmarking and comparative analyses utilizing internal and external data sources.
• Monitors student, faculty, curriculum, admissions, graduation, residency placement, and institutional performance metrics.
• Ensures data integrity through validation, auditing, quality assurance, and data governance practices.
• Supports predictive analytics initiatives and assists in the implementation of artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions to enhance decision-making and operational effectiveness.
• Utilizes Databricks and cloud-based analytics environments to support enterprise reporting and data integration activities.
• Prepares executive summaries, presentations, and analytical reports for leadership, committees, accreditation teams, and governance groups.
• Serves as a resource for institutional analytics, reporting, performance measurement, and strategic planning initiatives.

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in data analytics, institutional research, healthcare analytics, higher education analytics, medical education analytics, or a related analytical field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of statistical methodologies including descriptive and inferential statistics, survey analysis, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and trend analysis.
Advanced proficiency with SQL, Microsoft Excel, Tableau.
Experience developing dashboards, reports, data visualizations, and performance metrics.
Experience working with relational databases and enterprise data systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in data science, information science, business administration, health care administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
1-3 Years progressively responsible experience in education or healthcare, quality improvement, preferably in the academic setting.
Strong project development / management experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint)
Proficient in Tableau Desktop
Strong ability in teaching others how to optimize their use of computer programs, including Microsoft Office products, Internet browsers and Tableau dashboards.
Strong interpersonal communications skills, ability to work across disciplines in collaborative environment.
Should able to work efficiently, and accurately, and be able to prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Statistics, Data Analytics, Public Health, Business Analytics, Health Informatics, Institutional Research, Medical Education, Computer Science, or related field.
Five (5) years of experience in medical education, academic medicine, institutional research, accreditation, healthcare analytics, or higher education analytics.
Experience with Databricks, Azure, cloud-based analytics platforms, and enterprise data warehousing solutions.
Proficiency with Python, R, SPSS, SAS, Qualtrics, REDCap, or related analytical applications.
Knowledge of predictive analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning methodologies, natural language processing (NLP), and model validation techniques.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $66,300.00 - $100,436.29 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
