Operates all equipment in the department to result in a quality packaged product. Communicates issues with the members of the operations team. Analyzes data for accuracy and determines that key attributes are within tolerance. TITLE Quality Assurance Technician LOCATION Decatur, AL REPORTS TO Manager, Quality Assurance KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Understand and support the JMS Decatur Safety Program policies and performs work-related activities in a safe manner. Recognize unsafe work conditions and suggest new safety standards as appropriate Acquire Preventive Controls Qualified Individual training to comply with JMS Decatur food safety, quality and legal requirements. Analyze raw ingredients and finished products Inspect and perform testing on incoming ingredients and packaging supplies to assure compliance to specifications Perform laboratory analysis as scheduled during manufacturing of products to assure compliance to specifications Calibrate and standardize Quality Assurance equipment both in the lab and in-process equipment Perform data-entry and computer file maintenance on laboratory analysis Clean equipment SELECTION CRITERIA Education High School diploma or GED is required Experience 2-3 years of Quality/laboratory experience is highly desirable Other Basic computer skills Must be capable of comprehending and applying principles of basic food science Must have basic math skills and troubleshooting abilities Must have communication skills for interaction with all production departments at all levels TheRight Placefor You We are bold, kind, strive to do the right thing, we play to win, and we believe in a strong community that thrives together.
