At FSB Architects + Engineers, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, design technology plays an essential role in how our architecture and engineering teams collaborate, solve problems, and deliver successful projects. Our Design Technology Services team supports the applications, workflows, and resources that help our employees work more effectively. We're seeking an Application Support Specialist to serve as FSB's primary Revit and BIM technical resource while supporting other design and production technologies across the firm. This role will own firmwide Revit standards and content, provide advanced technical support, improve project workflows, and develop tools that increase production efficiency, consistency, and quality. - Serve as the firm's primary Revit and BIM technical expert, supporting users across the organization.
- Own and maintain firmwide Revit templates, standards, families, libraries, shared parameters, and production tools.
- Lead annual Revit version upgrades, including testing, content updates, deployment coordination, and troubleshooting.
- Provide advanced support for complex Revit issues beyond typical user or IT support.
- Develop Revit families, automation, scripts, and other tools that improve efficiency, consistency, and quality.
- Identify inefficient or repetitive workflows and develop better, more automated solutions.
- Establish and maintain BIM best practices for model setup, work-sharing, linking, model health, coordination, and project delivery.
- Partner with project teams to implement and optimize BIM workflows throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide targeted training and guidance to strengthen employee capability and consistent use of Revit.
Design Technology & Application Support
- Support other design, visualization, and production applications, including configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and interoperability.
- Provide technical support for Autodesk applications, including Revit and AutoCAD, products.
- Evaluate emerging design technologies based on business need, compatibility, user adoption, and measurable value to project delivery.
- Coordinate with IT on software deployment, licensing, hardware requirements, and technology infrastructure needs.
- Collaborate with IT, software development, and design technology teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Monitor software updates, features, and industry developments that may improve project delivery.
- Document support processes, troubleshooting procedures, standards, and solutions to common technical issues.
- Develop user guides, training materials, technical manuals, and standard operating procedures.
- Track and manage support requests through Tikit or a similar help desk platform.
- Serve as backup for Print Room operations, using familiarity with construction drawings and document sets to assist with printing, plotting, scanning, binding, and document distribution as needed.
Education & Experience
- Associate degree or technical credentials in Design Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Advanced experience with Revit and BIM workflows in an architecture, engineering, or construction environment.
- Experience developing and maintaining Revit templates, families, standards, libraries, and shared parameters.
- Experience with application support, BIM coordination, design technology, software implementation, or a related function.
- Experience with scripting, automation, or Revit API tools is preferred.
- Relevant Autodesk, BIM, or technology certifications are a plus.
Skills & Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Revit and a strong understanding of BIM standards and project delivery workflows.
- Experience with one or more additional Autodesk or Bentley applications, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or Bentley Open products.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex software, model, work-sharing, linking, and interoperability issues.
- Ability to identify workflow inefficiencies and develop practical, scalable solutions.
- Familiarity with Tikit or a similar help desk ticketing system.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to employees with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Strong written, verbal, training, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with project teams and cross-functional technology groups.
- Commitment to continued learning and staying current with design technology.
- Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Work Arrangement & Travel
- This is a full-time position supporting employees and project teams across the organization.
- Occasional travel may be required for training, project support, or team collaboration.
