Your Role at Cabot: Cabot Corporation is seeking a Sr Sales Representative for our Performance Chemicals segment. The Sr Sales Representative promotes and sells Cabot products, Specialty Carbons & Fumed Metal Oxides, within the Southeastern United States by representing a diverse line of products and end-use markets, requiring the ability to understand technical applications and utilization of Cabot products while managing customer accounts with varying levels of complexity. This role will also manage the sales cycle and negotiate sales contracts with customers.
This is an ideal role for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic business segment managing existing accounts, but also identifying new market entry and growing territories.
This is a US remote position is responsible for the Southeast region (GA, TN, SC or NC preferred). Additionally, this role will include 30%-50% domestic travel to customer and Cabot locations. How You'll Make an Impact:
- Develops sales plans based on sales strategies to increase market share and margins.
- Manages the sales cycle for assigned accounts and analyzes customer needs.
- Plans, organizes and manages a sales territory and balances the requirements of multiple business units.
- Identifies and targets new business/sales opportunities.
- Leads sales presentations and negotiates sales contracts with customers. Educates customers on new products and product enhancements.
- Understands and communicates customer goals and issues, current prospects and marketing events to Sales management. Accurately articulates and presents product features and benefits.
- Interprets and manage key financial result areas, i.e. revenues, volume, margins, days outstanding and forecasting. Monitors account receivables and responds to daily account issues.
- Supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001 technical specification, as applicable to the site/region.
What You'll Bring to Cabot:
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in B2B sales role, selling complex products, new business development, and account management.
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Chemical, oil/gas, petrochemical industry sales experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to accommodate travel needs of the position.
- Commercial Orientation. Understands the markets and applications in which our products add value
- Communications Skills. Ability to effectively engage with the organization in a manner that is timely, relevant, and appropriate for the setting, and ensures the effective delivery of information.
- Customer Relationship Skills. Interacts appropriately with customers to enable execution of Cabot's strategic goals
- Technical Understanding & Curiosity. Sufficient understanding of Cabot's technical capabilities, the applications in which they perform, and how they complement the performance of the customer
- Business Acumen. Demonstrates an understanding of Cabot's business strategy and the elements that are important for business profitability
- New Opportunity Identification. Recognizes opportunities where Cabot can provide value-added solutions.
- Results Orientation. Demonstrates the determination, know-how and accountability for achieving results
How We'll Support Your Success:
- The pay range for this role is from $110,150 to $154,100. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skill, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, all positions are eligible for health benefits on the first day of employment, 401K savings plans, vision, dental and annual bonus based on company performance.
