Program/Project Coordinator

The Kansas Agriculture Safety and Health/AgrAbility Project Coordinator coordinates and delivers statewide services, outreach, education, and technical assistance to farmers, ranchers, and agricultural workers with disabilities or functional limitations. The position develops partnerships with agricultural, rehabilitation, healthcare, Extension, and community organizations; assesses individual needs; connects clients with appropriate resources; promotes mental health and well-being; and supports efforts to improve safety, accessibility, independence, and quality of life in agriculture.

The Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department brings together agriculture and engineering to develop practical solutions that improve the safety, productivity, and sustainability of Kansas agriculture. Through K-State Research and Extension, the Kansas Agriculture Safety and Health (KASH) Program and Kansas AgrAbility Project (KAP) extend this work directly to farmers, ranchers, and agricultural workers by providing education, resources, and individualized assistance that help people stay safe, healthy, independent, and able to continue working and living on the farm.

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and four years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with e-mail, phone, software platforms (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Exceptional organizational, written and verbal communication skills to navigate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in evaluating situations, making decisions as well as grasp new information and updates to products/processes quickly.
• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Agricultural Communications and Education, Journalism and Mass Communications, Agriculture, or Health and Human Sciences.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities, along with a demonstrated interest in supporting and serving this population.
  
  

Additional Role Information:

• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds, set up and dismantle exhibit booth spaces and displays, and walk and work safely on uneven or rough terrain, including farms and other agricultural environments.
