Position Title: CNC Machine Operator - Grinder

QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity available for a CNC Machine Operator - Grinder at a company in Little Chute, WI. This is a potential to hire position for 2nd shift. CNC Machine Operator - Grinder Responsibilities: - Set up and operate CNC grinding machines, including rotary surface grinders, 5-axis Walter grinders, OD, and ID grinders, ensuring precise and efficient production - Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, bore gages, and CMMs to verify tolerances of +/- .001" - Follow detailed work instructions, including printed job travelers, to accurately execute manufacturing tasks - Conduct visual and dimensional inspections, including first-piece and Statistical Process Control (SPC) checks, to uphold quality standards - Perform routine preventative maintenance on grinding equipment, including changing coolants, grinding stones, and performing 5S housekeeping procedures to maintain a clean and organized workspace - Carry out final etching and polishing of finished parts, including operating centrifugal polishing machines - Set up and operate manual lathes for chamfering and other finishing processes - Program, edit, and troubleshoot CNC machines to optimize performance and ensure adherence to specifications - Train and mentor other team members, sharing expertise to foster continuous improvement within the department - Collaborate with the Machining Department and communicate with supervisory staff to ensure timely production and inventory management - Address internal and external customer inquiries, complaints, or problems professionally and efficiently - Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations, promoting a safe workplace culture Requirements for CNC Machine Operator - Grinder: - High school diploma or GED required; minimum of three years of experience in manufacturing, specifically grinding or CNC operations - Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities effectively - Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills - Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions accurately - Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 pounds, handle materials, and work in a loud environment - Familiarity with a variety of grinding and machining equipment, including CNC programming and manual lathe operation IND042 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
