Position Overview

Shasta Services LLC is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer with a strong engineering background, metallurgical knowledge, and proven sales experience within the stainless steel and titanium industries.

The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong business-development and relationship-building skills. This individual will serve as a technical resource for customers, identify new business opportunities, develop existing accounts, and provide material and application guidance based on customer requirements.

The Sales Engineer will report directly to the Sales Manager and will be based out of our Aliquippa, Pennsylvania location. Approximately 20%-30% travel is required for customer visits, sales meetings, industry events, and other business activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the stainless steel and titanium markets.
• Serve as a technical resource regarding metallurgy, material specifications, product capabilities, and applications.
• Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate stainless steel and titanium products or solutions.
• Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals and quotations.
• Work closely with customers and internal teams to address technical and commercial requirements.
• Follow up on quotations and opportunities throughout the sales process.
• Conduct customer visits, sales presentations, and technical discussions.
• Monitor industry trends, market conditions, customer needs, and competitive activity.
• Attend trade shows, conferences, and industry events as required.
• Maintain accurate customer and opportunity information.
• Meet established sales and business-development objectives.
• Travel approximately 20%-30% as required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong background in metallurgy and materials science.
• Proven sales experience within the stainless steel and/or titanium industries.
• Strong understanding of stainless steel and titanium materials, grades, specifications, and applications.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to customers.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term customer relationships.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 20%-30%.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience selling specialty metals, mill products, or engineered materials.
• Existing relationships within the stainless steel and titanium industries.
• Experience working with OEMs, manufacturers, fabricators, distributors, or industrial customers.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and material certifications.
• Experience with CRM systems and sales forecasting.
• Experience in aerospace, medical, energy, industrial, or other applications utilizing stainless steel and titanium.

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual salary: $95,000-$100,000
