Process Engineer II
Location: Heflin, AL
Schedule: Monday-Friday, typically 7:00 AM-4:00 PM, with some flexibility
Compensation: 5% STI + holiday bonus

Job Summary
The Process Engineer II is responsible for developing, improving, standardizing, and supporting manufacturing processes to drive efficiency, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
This role partners closely with operations, maintenance, quality, design, and engineering teams to troubleshoot process issues, improve production performance, support new product introductions, and implement process improvements across the facility.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on manufacturing or process engineering experience, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a plant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and improve manufacturing and production processes to maximize efficiency, quality, and output.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve process-related issues to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Evaluate current processes and identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency gains, waste reduction, and quality improvements.
- Develop and maintain process flow diagrams, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Partner with operations, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to support process integration and production goals.
- Support new product introductions, process validation, and scale-up activities.
- Ensure manufacturing equipment and processes operate within established parameters and performance standards.
- Provide technical guidance and training to operators, junior engineers, and other team members.
- Support the implementation of digital tools, automation, and process monitoring technologies.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant manufacturing, process engineering, or production engineering experience.
- Strong experience supporting manufacturing or industrial operations.
- Demonstrated experience with process optimization, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and quality initiatives.
- Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is a plus.
- Experience supporting new product introductions or process scale-up.
- Experience with cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and process standardization initiatives.
- Stable career history with demonstrated tenure and progression within prior organizations.

- Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 AM-4:00 PM, with some flexibility.
- No regular overtime is expected.
