Corrections Locksmith - SCI Forest

This role supports institutional safety by installing, maintaining, and repairing lock systems and related equipment. As a Corrections Locksmith, you will perform the following duties:

• Lock Maintenance: Install and repair mechanical, electronic, and pneumatic lock systems
• Preventative Checks: Perform routine inspections to ensure operability of equipment
• Key Production: Produce keys, log lost or damaged keys, and adjust master key sets
• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed logs of work performed on locks and equipment
• Tool Management: Determine needed tools and materials and submit purchase requests
• Inmate Oversight: Oversee inmates performing non-security tasks and maintain related records

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $49,010.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience in the locksmith trade; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
