Automotive Mechanic

As an Automotive Mechanic for the Department of Transportation, you will support critical repair and maintenance work on trucks, tools, and construction equipment. This position performs preventive maintenance and repair on a wide range of vehicles, tools, and equipment used in transportation operations. The role supports safe operation, dependable service, and proper care of both gasoline and diesel-powered equipment. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Hours subject to change due to weather or season
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $49,819.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
• Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

• This position requires possession of a current and valid Pennsylvania Class C driver's license.
• This position requires possession of a valid Class 1 Inspection Mechanic certificate or equivalent that allows inspection for Class 1 vehicles.
