Department Summary The Department of Counseling and Higher Education promotes human development through education, research, and service that advance the professions of, and scholarship in, counseling and higher education. UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba. Position Overview The Higher Education program seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcome applicants at any time. This posting is for Spring 2027 and Summer 2027 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and opening to teach these courses develop on periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs. The anticipated need is for courses to be taught that will encompass several aspects of Higher Education such as history, administration, budgeting and student issues. Teaching assignments may be located at UNT's campus in Denton or the UNT Frisco campus. The teaching location will be determined in consultation with the department prior to assignment and based on instructional needs. Minimum Qualifications Doctoral Degree in Higher Education or related field. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in Higher Education with expertise in history, administration, budget and student issues. Required License/Registration/Certifications Physical Requirements Communicating with others to exchange information.
