The Research Associate supports projects initiated and conducted by principal investigator(s) by assisting in grant funded research and/or industry sponsored clinical research conducted on site at the hospital or its affiliated sites. Working under general supervision, this position works closely with principal investors, study coordinators, study participants, and other research professionals to plan, prepare, implement, and conduct research projects to ensure robust and valid data is gathered during studies. Essential Job Function: Assembles data and performs quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of research findings, contributing to the validity and credibility of research outcomes and enabling evidence-based decision-making. Contributes to early-stage activities for research projects, including subject recruitment, literature gathering, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) document submission, facilitating the smooth initiation and progression of research studies. Ensures regulatory compliance and adheres to Good Clinical Practices for clinical research, maintaining Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and ethical standards, safeguarding patient privacy, and ensuring the ethical conduct of research. Performs diverse administrative and clerical responsibilities requiring some analysis, judgment and knowledge of specific study protocols, research processes, and applicable regulations. Plans, prepares, implements, and conducts various miscellaneous activities to support research projects. Provides operational and clerical support for project-related activities, including editing reports, managing expenses, and assisting with grant applications. Performs other duties as assigned. Education: Required: Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of research experience or Associate's Degree with 5 years of research experience.
