Assistant Professor of Chemistry(Tenure Track)

The Department of Chemistry at the University of the Pacific prepares undergraduate and graduate students in the chemical sciences through teaching, year-round undergraduate research, and mentoring of M.S. and Ph.D. students in the Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences Program. This tenure-track Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry supports that mission by teaching core and specialized courses and by building a research program that involves undergraduate and graduate students and is competitive for external funding.

This is an in-person role, and the successful candidate must be willing to relocate within California, preferably within 25 miles of the Stockton Pacific campus.

Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using a computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:

Work is performed during standard hours; Additional hours may be required to meet business needs or deadlines.

Appointment begins Fall 2027.
