The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

A Typical Day

The Dispatcher 1 is responsible for ensuring efficient communications and coordination between various units/agencies.They are responsible for assigning the appropriate resource, coordinating the response to the location of the emergency, tracking the assignment and personnel through appropriate disposition and availability.

• Conducts self and sets expectations for others to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with our Mission, Vision, Values, Characteristics, Credo and Mantra
• Capable of communicating clearly, effectively, professionally, and in the English language via written and verbal means
• Responsible for tracking units throughout all phases of operation to include but not limited to, available status, posting, dispatch, enroute, at the hospital, vehicle tracking, etc. utilizing the computer aided dispatch software (CAD) and any approved relevant reference
• Responsible for all administrative and operational policies and procedures for RWJBH EMS and Communications
• Responsible for answering non 9-1-1 lines for ALS requests when volume dictates, and all call backs to towns/agencies within your region
• Performs other duties as required or requested by EMS management, necessary to the function of the organization

To Be Considered

• High School Diploma or GED
• Applicants will be required to submit to a medical examination, drug testing, TB testing or Hepatitis vaccinations prior to and during employment at the expense of RWJBH Corporate Care

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider
• APCO BTC or State approved equivalent within 90 days
• IAED EMD within 90 days
• ICS-200 within 6 months of employment
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Drivers license record check and criminal background check

Preferred:

• Prefer one year dispatch experience with another public safety agency
