Aircraft Maintenance Controller

STS Technical Services is hiring an Aircraft Maintenance Controller in Chicago, Illinois, to support aircraft maintenance, troubleshooting and return-to-service activities for onboard broadband connectivity systems.

This role is designed for an aviation professional with a strong understanding of aircraft maintenance, electrical systems and avionics installations. The Aircraft Maintenance Controller will work closely with airline partners, maintenance planners and contract maintenance personnel to ensure work is completed accurately, documented properly and performed in accordance with applicable company, airline and FAA requirements.

The Aircraft Maintenance Controller supports the maintenance, repair and return to service of broadband systems installed aboard customer aircraft.

This position serves as a technical and operational resource for airline partners and maintenance teams while supporting system integrity, maintenance coordination, troubleshooting and regulatory compliance.

• Support maintenance, repair and return-to-service activities for onboard broadband systems
  
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable company, airline partner and FAA requirements
  
• Ensure complete and accurate documentation for work performed on customer aircraft
  
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with airline partners
  
• Coordinate with contract maintenance personnel
  
• Support established customer satisfaction objectives
  
• Verify required maintenance and preventive maintenance activities are completed appropriately
  
• Conduct diagnostic checks on onboard broadband systems
  
• Support airline partners with maintenance requests
  
• Support airline partners with engineering requests
  
• Coordinate with airline maintenance planners
  
• Coordinate with aircraft routing personnel
  
• Work with third-party contract maintenance providers as required
  
• Complete assigned tasks according to operational schedules
  

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
  
• Ability to interpret aircraft schematics
  
• Ability to understand engineering orders
  
• Proven customer service skills
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
  
• Ability to sit for extended periods
  
• Ability to travel domestically up to 5%
  

• At least one year of aircraft maintenance experience
  
• Experience with electrical installations on jet-powered transport aircraft
  
• Experience with avionics installations on jet-powered transport aircraft
  
• Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  
• Associate degree in a related discipline
  
• Ability to communicate in additional languages
