TEMPORARY On-Call, As-Needed - DENTAL ASSISTANT

Temporary/Hourly - Dental Assistant (On-Call, As-Needed)

Under general or direct supervision, per Iowa Dental Board rules, performs chairside duties in assistance and carries out all functions which a dental assistant is legally certified to perform as delegated by the resident or faculty dentist.

Performs responsibilities in an environment that includes faculty,residents and dental students.

Worksite will be the Pediatric Dentistry clinics in the College of Dentistry.

Applicants must have the followingby time of appointment:

* Successful completion of a CODA-accredited dental assistance program or one-year full-time equivalency in chairside assistant experience assisting in four-handed method of dentistry;

* Must have a current certificate of registration to practice as a dental assistant issued by the Iowa Board of Dental Examiners. (QDA)

* Must possess current Iowa certificate of proficiency in dental radiography. (QDA)

DESIRABLE:

* Experience with children;

* knowledge of Dental Assisting skills;

* good communication skills and ability to communicate concepts; and

  • fluency in Spanish (or other foreign language).
  
  

Rate: $22.77/hour

Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any conviction history and will be subject to a criminal background check and credential/education verification.
