Ivy Library Stacks Coordinator

The University of Virginia Library is seeking a Stacks Coordinator at our high-density storage facility, Ivy Library. The Stacks Coordinator will help manage, organize, maintain, and provide access to physical collections housed in a warehouse setting.

Responsibilities

• Use an order picker forklift to retrieve requested materials and reshelve returned items

• Transport and receive library materials from library branches

• Drive a 16-ft box truck for delivery or pick-up of library materials

• Process new library materials using circulation and storage management software

• Participate in ongoing and special projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma

• Experience: At least one year of customer service experience.

• Ability to become licensed to operate an order picker forklift

• Valid Virginia Driver's License or the ability to receive a Virginia license within the first 90 days of employment

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of previous work experience in a warehouse setting

• Experience with library systems software or warehouse storage management software

• Willingness to learn to use Library's integrated library system, SirsiDynix Workflows, and storage management software, CaiaSoft

• Willingness to contribute to a collaborative, respectful, and invitational workplace.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift 50 pounds and push, pull and move heavy carts. The ability to stand and walk for at least 6 hours per day. Ability to operate order picker forklift after training and licensing.

Anticipated hiring range: $19.23 - $20.20 per hour ($40,000 - $42,000 annually), commensurate with experience..
