Attorney- Settlement Team

We are seeking a highly skilled legal professional to join our dedicated settlement team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in navigating and resolving personal injury and property damage claims, with a particular focus on premises liability cases. Your ability to quickly ascertain the facts of a case and accurately assess its value will be critical to achieving favorable outcomes. This is a non-litigation position, perfectly suited for an alternative dispute resolution expert or an experienced litigator seeking to apply their skills in a focused settlement environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and critically analyze medical records to understand the scope and impact of injuries.
• Thoroughly analyze pleadings and all relevant case documentation.
• Assist in comprehensive case evaluations to determine appropriate settlement values.
• Draft precise Requests for Authority (RFA) to secure settlement approvals.
• Prepare well-reasoned recommendations for settlement authority approvals.
• Provide essential support for overall case strategy and facilitate productive settlement discussions.

Required Qualifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar Association is mandatory.
• Demonstrated experience in negotiating and settling personal injury matters, with specific expertise in premises liability cases.
• Capability to assist with property damage settlements.
• Strong writing skills, evidenced by 2-3 sample redacted papers.
• Experience mediating cases, both privately and in court settings.
• A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be an Attorney or a highly experienced Claims Suit Adjuster.
• Extensive settlement negotiation experience.
• A proven track record of successfully evaluating and settling claims.

• Well-versed in evaluating claims exposure and accurately determining settlement value.
• Ability to distill complex case information into clear, concise authority requests.
• A strong professional reputation for successfully settling cases.
