Position Overview As part of the Price Optimization division, this role is responsible for designing, building, and leading the commercialization capability for Pricing Solutions. Reporting to the VP, Strategic Solutions, this role establishes the operating model, governance, launch methodology, organizational readiness, and performance framework that enable strategic products, pricing models, and integrated solutions to be successfully commercialized and translated into measurable business results.
This leader serves as the enterprise commercialization authority, ensuring the organization is prepared to launch, sell, implement, adopt, and realize value from strategic initiatives while creating scalable commercialization capabilities that can be leveraged across the broader enterprise.
What You'll Do: Commercialization Strategy & Operating Model
- Establishes the commercialization capability for Pricing Solutions.
- Creates the governance and operating model that becomes the standard for future product and solution launches.
- Accelerates revenue realization by improving launch quality, organizational readiness, and adoption.
- Provides executive leadership with commercialization insights that inform strategic investment decisions.
- Builds a scalable commercialization framework that can be leveraged across the broader organization.
- Design, build, and continuously evolve the commercialization capability for Pricing Solutions.
- Establish the commercialization operating model, including governance, decision rights, stage gates, operating rhythms, and accountability frameworks.
- Define the commercialization methodology used to bring new products, capabilities, pricing models, and strategic initiatives to market.
- Develop enterprise commercialization standards, playbooks, templates, readiness criteria, and launch frameworks.
- Establish executive governance and approval processes for commercialization initiatives.
- Continuously evaluate and mature the commercialization operating model based on business strategy and organizational needs.
Commercialization Portfolio Leadership
- Establish commercialization priorities across strategic initiatives and valuate commercialization complexity, organizational readiness, business value, and risk.
- Sequence launches to optimize organizational capacity and minimize launch fatigue.
- Balance competing commercialization priorities while aligning to enterprise objectives.
- Identify commercialization dependencies and ensure initiatives remain coordinated.
- Recommend commercialization investments based on strategic and financial impact.
- Develop and maintain a multi-year commercialization roadmap aligned to strategic product, pricing, and market priorities.
Launch Governance & Execution
- Own the governance and execution framework that drives successful commercialization.
- Develop and lead commercialization governance for all strategic launches.
- Establish launch stage gates and readiness milestones.
- Determine launch readiness and provide Go/No-Go recommendations.
- Identify commercialization risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure launches meet established commercialization standards before market release.
Organizational Readiness
- Establish and oversee enterprise readiness for commercialization.
- Develop commercialization readiness assessments.
- Define launch readiness criteria across commercial, operational, financial, technical, and implementation domains.
- Ensure organizational capabilities are prepared to support new products and strategic initiatives.
- Create repeatable readiness processes that improve launch quality and reduce execution risk.
- Monitor organizational readiness throughout the commercialization lifecycle.
Commercial Performance & Revenue Realization
- Own commercialization performance from launch through business value realization.
- Define commercialization success metrics and executive scorecards.
- Measure commercialization effectiveness across all launches and monitor revenue realization against approved business cases.
- Evaluate adoption trends, utilization, and commercialization performance.
- Identify commercialization gaps impacting growth and profitability.
- Recommend corrective actions to improve commercialization outcomes.
- Present commercialization performance and recommendations to executive leadership.
Strategic Business Leadership
- Provide strategic leadership that strengthens commercialization as a core business capability.
- Influence strategic investment decisions through commercialization planning.
- Evaluate commercialization implications of strategic business initiatives.
- Lead executive discussions related to commercialization priorities and business readiness.
- Drive enterprise alignment around commercialization objectives.
- Serve as the organization's subject matter expert on commercialization strategy and execution.
- Evaluate commercialization viability during strategic planning and business case development.
- Recommend commercialization approaches that maximize adoption, scalability, and revenue realization.
- Advise executive leadership on commercialization risks associated with strategic investments.
- Translate enterprise strategy into executable commercialization roadmaps.
Continuous Improvement & Capability Development
- Create a scalable commercialization capability that continuously improves over time.
- Establish commercialization best practices and governance standards.
- Lead post-launch reviews and institutionalize lessons learned.
- Continuously improve commercialization methodologies, frameworks, and processes.
- Identify opportunities to simplify commercialization activities while improving speed and effectiveness.
- Develop long-term commercialization capabilities that support future business growth.
- Benchmark commercialization practices against industry-leading organizations.
- Must be available to travel 25% - 50% as required to meet business needs.
What You'll Bring to Zelis:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required or commensurate experience.
- 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in Commercial Strategy, Go-to-Market, Product Management, Business Transformation, Management Consulting, or a related strategic business function.
- 7+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives within highly matrixed organizations.
- Demonstrated experience leading commercialization, product launch, or business transformation initiatives with P&L, revenue growth, or operational performance accountability.
- Demonstrated success designing and implementing commercialization, go-to-market, or business operating models that improved organizational effectiveness and business performance.
- Experience leading enterprise product launches, strategic business initiatives, or commercial transformation efforts from concept through market adoption and revenue realization.
- Proven ability to influence executive leadership and drive alignment across multiple business functions without direct reporting authority.
- Strong strategic planning, financial analysis, and business case development experience, including evaluating investment decisions and measuring business outcomes.
- Experience establishing governance frameworks, operating rhythms, performance metrics, and executive reporting to drive accountability and execution.
- Exceptional executive communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change, navigate ambiguity, and build scalable business capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within healthcare technology, healthcare payments, payer/provider solutions, SaaS, fintech, or another highly regulated B2B industry.
- Experience commercializing complex, multi-product or integrated solution portfolios.
- Experience supporting pricing strategy, product packaging, or commercial portfolio management.
- Experience leading organizational design, operating model transformation, or enterprise process redesign initiatives.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management, commercialization frameworks, and stage-gate governance methodologies.
- Experience developing executive dashboards and performance measurement frameworks focused on adoption, commercialization, and revenue realization.
- Experience working cross-functionally in a highly collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated success building new teams, functions, or organizational capabilities from the ground up.

In-office work and activities vary based on work and team objectives in accordance with Company policies. While location expectations vary by role, candidates within approximately 50 miles of a U.S. office are generally preferred to support collaboration when needed. Our hybrid approach is flexible, and in-office presence is guided by team and business needs rather than a fixed weekly schedule. Base Salary Range $185,000.00 - $234,650.00
