The Paralegal provides comprehensive legal and litigation support to attorneys and litigation teams. This role requires strong research, analytical, organizational, and case-management skills, as well as the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment when applying specialized knowledge of laws, regulations, precedent, and judicial or administrative proceedings. Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with the evaluation, development, and litigation of cases.
- Review and evaluate case files to assess litigation issues, relevant legal theories, and supporting evidence.
- Identify the need for additional information, evidence, witnesses, records, or independent research and develop plans to obtain necessary materials.
- Conduct interviews, review records, and evaluate evidence for relevance and potential use in litigation.
- Research and analyze legislative developments, administrative decisions, judicial opinions, regulations, and other legal authorities.
- Conduct cite checking and Bluebook citation review for legal briefs, memoranda, motions, and other filings.
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, witness materials, and case files.
- Work with attorneys to develop and organize evidence, exhibits, charts, graphs, and supporting documentation.
- Gather, sort, and analyze information from electronic and traditional record-keeping systems.
- Utilize Relativity or similar e-discovery platforms to review, organize, categorize, and manage litigation documents and data.
- Prepare summaries, comparative data, tables, and other materials to support case analysis and litigation strategy.
- Assist with witness preparation and coordinate materials for court appearances.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure appropriate custody and tracking of exhibits, documents, and evidence.
- Provide ongoing administrative and substantive litigation support throughout the life of a case.
- Prepare materials and documentation for attorneys involved in investigations, hearings, depositions, and trial proceedings.
- May testify regarding exhibits or other materials prepared in support of a case.
