Summary

This Mobile Maintenance position is responsible for troubleshooting, identifying replacement parts and sometimes obsolete alternatives, getting quotes, ordering parts and performing pm or repair to all mobile equipment at Greenville Metals Inc.

Essential Functions

• Adheres to plant and department safety rules, safely operate all equipment and tools, identifies and reports safety problems, corrects when possible.
• Troubleshoots and performs mobile equipment repairs on various types of fork trucks, loaders, lifts, excavators, etc.
• Performs preventative maintenance on a regular schedule as organized by our CMMS MVP.
• Recognizes when workload is overcoming ability to perform in a timely manner and makes necessary recommendations to accomplish tasks
• Fabricates parts, gaskets, etc. as required to maintain systems.
• Provides technical assistance when outside contractors are needed to perform maintenance on mobile equipment.
• Welds overhead and vertical with stick and mig welders.
• Reads and interprets manuals, drawings and schematics for equipment.
• Completes compliance logs and records.
• Follows written and verbal instructions with a minimum amount of direct supervision.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical degree, Journeyman's card, or equivalent training preferred. 
• 3-5 years experience in repair/maintenance of Diesel, gasoline, propane and battery powered mobile equipment as well as hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on industrial equipment preferred. 

Competencies

• Working knowledge and experience with Mobile equipment to include OBD scanners, troubleshooting by online or manuals, creating PM procedures to improve the reliability, useful life, ability to perform tasks, and ease of troubleshooting and repairs for all mobile equipment.
• Must have experience operating mobile equipment, forklifts and boom lifts.
• Proficient in the basic use of a computer to facilitate entry and completion of work orders in a CMMS system.
• Knowledgeable of hazardous material handling protocols, OSHA safety standards, and NEC.
• Able to multi-task with shifting priorities and multiple interruptions
• May have to assist in troubleshooting and repairs of melt shop or other process areas from time to time.
• Must be willing to work shifts and overtime as needed, including after hours and emergency support.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Must be team and safety oriented.

Must be able to frequently reach including overhead, bend/stop, push/pull, twist, climb, balance, crouch, kneel, crawl, stand, and walk.  May be required to lift and/or carry up to 35lbs. Occasionally drive or operate mobile equipment.  Repetitive hand movements may also occur on occasion.

Works primarily in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, flames, water and extreme heat and cold. Occasional exposure to vibrations, noise, heights and uneven terrain. Environment may be uncomfortable at times to include weather and height requirements to work.
