Location: Louisville, KY

Pay Rate: $28.87+ per hour

We are seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Claims Handler for a temporary, fully onsite opportunity in Louisville, KY. This role is ideal for a claims professional with strong workers' compensation experience who excels at investigation, case management, customer service, and cost containment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of workers' compensation claims from initial investigation through resolution.
• Analyze complex claims, determine exposure, and develop effective action plans to drive timely outcomes.
• Establish, monitor, and adjust claim reserves throughout the life of each claim.
• Calculate and issue benefits, payments, and claim adjustments in accordance with applicable regulations and authority levels.
• Ensure timely state filings and maintain compliance with workers' compensation laws and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with medical providers, legal counsel, investigators, and other vendors to support claim resolution.
• Manage claim recovery opportunities, including subrogation and applicable offsets.
• Communicate claim status and updates with injured employees, stakeholders, and internal partners.
• Maintain accurate documentation, claim coding, and reporting records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of workers' compensation claims management experience.
• Proven experience handling lost-time workers' compensation claims.
• Strong investigative, analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
