What to Expect

Tesla's Virtual Power Plant programs residential customers with the opportunity to earn money and support their community by allowing their Tesla products to participate in an aggregation that provides high-value services to the electrical grid.

This Program Operations Manager will drive the delivery, operations, and scale Tesla's industry-leading distributed Virtual Power Plant programs. They will own the business processes that are critical to program success. They will work with stakeholders across Tesla and interface with external partners to manage and operate programs that provide excellent customer experience and generate value for the grid, the customer, and Tesla.

A successful candidate will have project management experience and a grounded understanding of distributed energy resources and utility programs. They will be motivated by excellent customer and business outcomes, will be a self-sufficient problem-solver, and will be excellent at maintaining professional relationships inside and outside of Tesla.


What You'll Do
  • Create and execute plans for the launch of new programs, including training for internal teams and external partners and the establishment of necessary workflows
  • Support and maintain the business processes for effective customer communication, site enrollment, and delivery of grid services. Constantly improve and adapt these critical processes with a focus on scale
  • Create and maintain necessary reports and tools. Evaluate performance against key metrics and communicate progress and issues
  • Be the internal subject matter expert on Tesla Grid Services programs and their deployment plans

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in a Technical, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in project, product, or program management
  • 2+ years of experience in the distributed energy industry or a related field
  • Experience creating and maintaining business processes
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skillset and proficiency with databases (SQL) and reporting tools
