The Olefins Optimization group isseekingan experienced, motivated engineer to fill theClinton, IowaandMorris, Illinoissite analyst position. The site analystis responsible fordeveloping and communicating weekly economic operating plans tooptimizetheOlefinsassets. The site analyst will be the primary interface between the Olefins Optimization & Planning group, the Olefins Business group, and the Olefins Manufacturing site personnel (operations, technical, CSE, maintenance).

The site analyst will be based ateithertheClinton, Iowaor Morris, Illinoissites.Travelfrom one site to the otherwill be expected to occur at least2 timesper month.Trips toWilliams Tower(Houston, Texas)for training, planning, coordination, and other business needswill berequiredona quarterly basis.The position mustcomply withthe remote work policies specific tothe site they primarily report to, whether Clinton or Morris,and is configured as a standard full-time schedule (5 days per week, 8 hours per day). No alternative work arrangements will be possible.

Should the successful candidaterequire relocation toeither Clinton or Morris, financialassistancewill be available(with specifics to bedeterminedon a case-by-case basis).

A Day in the Life

  • Develops weekly site plans to maximize the value of theOlefin's assetsrelativetosite and business constraints.
  • Understands and communicates the objectives and drivers of the global and site specific Olefins plans. This includes:
  • Feedstock and product market information (price and supply/demand)
  • Enterprise manufacturing information.
  • Communicates and explains the plan, drivers andobjectivesto all departments andlevels at the site.
  • SupportsGulf CoastFeedstock Commercial Manager as needed on the respectivecommercial interfaces.
  • Utilizes fundamental chemical engineering principles and knowledge of olefins processtechnology touse andmaintainthe site planning model.
  • Works with the Feedstock Commercial Managersand Olefins Operations todeterminetheoptimalplant feedstock schedule that maximizes throughput and profitability that is consistentwith planconstraints.
  • Representssites during the planning process, providing constraints and scenarios forevaluation and feedback on results.
  • Works with Manufacturing (operations, technical and maintenance) and Pipeline (logisticsandstorage) to definethe plant constraintsdaily. Works withappropriate individualstodevelop options and economics to get around the constraints.
  • Performs engineering evaluations and designs that will improve site profitability. Fullyengaged with site process engineering staff to develop projects.
  • Leads inventory and logistic planning for TAs and economic justification for alllevelsPGprojects.
  • Monitors and coordinates information to ensure sitesoperateto schedule and plan values tomaximize profitability.Identify, value, and prioritize opportunities for improvement. Work withManufacturing, Customer Supply Chain, Sales, Raw Material Supply, Business and Marketingto implement.
  • Assistssite technical organizationsin thequantification oflost site opportunitieswhileidentifyingand implementinggapclosure initiatives to improve asset profitability.
  • Assistssite operations organization to optimally plan maintenance activities to maximizeproduction.
  • Monitors APC systems for performance and direction consistent with the global plan.
  • Comparesactual plant operations to LP model estimates so that model enhancements canbeidentifiedand prioritized.
  • Monitor and understand performance vs. related industry benchmarkstoidentifyand implementvalue baseddecisionsthatensure company plans or processes are notdisadvantagedrelativeto the competition / industry averages.

You Bring This Value

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineeringrequired.
  • Minimum of8years' experienceinvolving one or more of the following: manufacturing, business planning and analysis, supply chain, business management,or sales.
  • Position level is dependent onindividual'sdepth and breadth of experience.
  • Excellent communication skills across functional areas to ensure understanding, alignment,and synchronization of the operating plan.
  • Must be highly motivated with strong problem-solving skills to lead / influence and impact decisions, with minimal direct supervision.
  • Must have advanced simulation skills tomaintainand execute optimization models.
  • Incorporate systemic thinking into the detailed responsibilities associated with supply and demand planning,understandingandutilizingimpacts and opportunities across the entire system.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Preference given to Chemical Engineerswith Olefins unit manufacturing experience.
