Summary of Job Duties:The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (Little Rock Athletics) seeks a Director of Athletics Equipment and Merchandise Operations who will serve under the direction of the Associate AD for Facilities and Event Management. This position will assist in a number of capacities including managing all aspects of athletics apparel and equipment, managing vendor and apparel contracts, running the day to day operations of the equipment room. Along with handling merchandise operations and the operation of the Trojan Armory, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education;
  • Experience in a collegiate or professional athletics department.

Preferred Experience and Experience

  • Current Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) certification, or successful acquisition of certification within 12 months from date of hire;
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets and conducting equipment forecasting across multiple sport programs;
  • Experience with institutional apparel vendor contracts and multi-sport ordering processes preferred.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the equipment room;
  • Monitor the maintenance needs of equipment room machinery and schedule repairs as needed;
  • Coordinate with internal and external constituents regarding equipment operations;
  • Establish and implement departmental protocols to maintain an accurate inventory system;
  • Manage team store operations, including locating items, processing transactions at the register, and visual merchandising;
  • Assist in event set ups and breakdowns for home athletic event;
  • Operation of the Trojan Armory for all home Men's and Women's basketball games
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work nights and weekends;
  • Knowledge of NCAA, conference and University rules;
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with people and present a positive image of the University;
  • Strong problem-solving ability; capable of demonstrating good judgment and logical decision-making under pressure;
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
