POSITION SUMMARY

As the General Manager, Quad Cities / Chicago at Liberty Packaging, you will lead and manage two Liberty Packaging Central locations while working collaboratively across business to provide vision, leadership, and day-to-day management. This role is responsible for setting commercial and operational strategy, aligning business objectives to strategy and customer requirements, and driving a focus on product and process excellence for the manufacturing plant located in Rock Island and distribution facility in Chicago, Illinois. This role will lead and manage the business in a manner that produces desired profitable growth for the business.

This position reports directly to our Senior Vice President - Packaging and is located at the Liberty Packaging facility in Rock Island, Illinois.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the senior leader for Liberty Packaging Central; provide leadership to teams including Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Pricing, Design, EHS, and Human Resources and Finance in partnership with functional leaders
  • Plan, develop, organize, and execute the Liberty Packaging Central profitable growth strategy to deliver company financial growth objectives
  • Responsible for the overall P&L results, including identifying and executing growth, improvement, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Work collaboratively across the organization and specifically with functional leaders
  • Manage resources to effectively balance strategic objectives with financial return and the efficient use of assets
  • Ensures manufacturing schedule attainment is meeting customer service expectations, cost and quality considerations
  • Lead sales team to secure new opportunities that fulfills commercial profitable growth strategy
  • Partner with Enterprise Solutions EHS function to develop and implement of all safety policies and programs to promote a culture of safety and improve safety performance
  • Maintain customer and other related business relationships; participate in key customer and supplier visits and calls
  • Manage employee performance by establishing clear goals and expectations, tracking progress against goals, ensuring timely feedback, and addressing performance challenges in a prompt and professional manner
  • Represent Liberty Packaging Central in the community in accordance with core values of Caring, Innovation, Trust and Excellence
  • Other duties, as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in management, operations or related field required
  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience in general management, plant management or senior level functional experience (working in multiple functional areas including sales, marketing, distribution, and finance) within a manufacturing environment required
  • Previous experience building and executing commercial growth strategies
  • Previous experience developing capital strategies to improve operational effectiveness, customer fulfillment and cost improvements
  • Strong management/leadership skills and ability/willingness to sponsor change
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with all levels of Liberty Packaging's organization
  • Strong customer focus and demonstrated ability to build lasting customer relationships
  • High personal standards with a proven track record of integrity, business ethics, and professionalism
  • Action orientation with initiative to achieve results
  • Travel up to 50% between Liberty Packaging Quad Cities & Chicago locations

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Corrugated packaging experience or closely related industry experience strongly preferred
  • Significant operational and continuous improvement experience
  • Previous experience with mergers and acquisitions

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting base salary range for this position is $221,462 - $276,828 per year plus eligibility in annual bonus program. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses or deferred compensation options.
