Job Details:
Mercer University is searching for a Clinical Rotation Supervisor at our clinical campus in Valdosta, GA.

Responsibilities:

The Clinical Rotation Supervisor manages the 3rd and 4th year programs and supervises clerkship and post-clerkship coordinators to ensure effective service to the students and administrative support for the clinical faculty, and provides additional coordination to 1st and 2nd year students. Primarily, this position shall coordinate the clinical education program for third and fourth-year medical students. These duties include, but are not limited to: coordination of student schedules; scheduling and proctoring of all third year NBME exams; collection/distribution/statistical reports of student grades to: students, appropriate faculty, and necessary committees; orientation/hospital-specific training for students; makes arrangements/verifies records for visiting students; and point of contact for students and clinical preceptors with Mercer University School of Medicine (MUSM). This position will contribute to the Clerkship Manuals and Electives Catalog in written and web-based formats. This position will serve as the ex-officio member of the Clerkship Directors Sub-Committee and 4th Year Sub-Committee of the Curriculum and Instruction Committee, and maintain all records for these committees in coordination with other campuses. This position acts as a liaison between MUSM, medical schools, hospitals, and physician offices. This position will supervise maintenance of the student lounge and facilities at the hospital and work with Year 3 Program Director for third year curriculum and curriculum support concerns and Year 4 Program Director for fourth year curriculum. This position will also assist with content input and management in the learning management system and with the master grade reporting in One45 and Excel.

This position will serve as the Chief Proctor for internal program exams as well as NBME exams. This position will work with other proctors to train, oversee, and schedule all other staff proctors for NBME and internal program exams, which includes specific knowledge and strict adherence to NBME protocols. This position manages and promotes relationships with administrators, faculty, and staff, manages credentialing, and serves as the point of contact for students and clinical preceptors for MUSM. This requires the position to travel to the hospital and off-site clinics as an essential part of the job. Serve as facilitator, resource, and contact person for students, faculty, and staff in the 3rd and 4th year programs and in all of the specific clerkships. This includes, but is not limited to, orientation of students, overseeing the proctoring of NBME exams and overseeing OSCEs. Must forge and maintain strong working relationships with Academic Affairs and applicable university committees, by assisting and supporting clerkship staff and faculty across all campuses.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree and one year of administrative office experience that must include working with and leading teams are required. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience that also includes working with and leading teams will be considered.

Candidates must have a valid driver's license as this position requires some travel.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Advanced Excel skills to create and manage a variety of academic and curricular databases.
  • Capable of organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines under high pressure.
  • Capable of learning, instructing, and managing a variety of software platforms and programs (for example, One45, Canvas, ExamSoft, etc.) for the delivery and evaluation of the curriculum and the assessment of students.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all academic records and ensure this confidentiality even when communicating with students, faculty, and administration.
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with many organizations that are internal and external to the university.
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized to complete projects for successful outcome.
