Position Overview
| Primary Purpose of Position |
The Willie A. Deese College of Business & Economics at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Part-Time Instructor. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching student success and professional development courses as part of our student success colloquium. Courses may include Student Success Colloquium (
FRST 101,
COBE 201, and/or
COBE 301). This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic and professional journeys.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver engaging and interactive course content focused on key skills for academic success, including time management, study strategies, goal setting, and academic planning.
* Provide personalized guidance and support to students to help them navigate the college experience and achieve their academic and career/professional goals.
* Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
* Monitor student progress and performance, offering timely feedback and support to promote student success.
* Collaborate with fellow instructors and administrators to ensure the course effectively meets student needs and objectives.
Part-time, temporary, flexible hours, with a potential course load of 3-6 credit hours. In person instruction. Part-Time Instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis. |

| Minimum Requirements |
* Master's degree in education, business, or a related field.

* Previous teaching or mentoring experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
* Knowledge of student success strategies and best practices in academic support.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to effectively engage with a diverse student population.
* Background in business, marketing, or entrepreneurship is encouraged. |
