Air Products is seeking an Account Manager to join the U.S. HyCO West Gulf Coast team in Houston, TX. This role supports customer accounts, asset performance, and growth opportunities within the hydrogen business and energy transition.

The Account Manager will lead account management, business development, contract administration, technical and financial analysis, and commercial support across the U.S. Gulf Coast hydrogen market.

The ideal candidate will bring strong business acumen, technical aptitude, customer focus, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively to deliver profitable business results.

  • Manage customer relationships, contracts, forecasts, invoicing, accounts receivable, and account strategies.

  • Partner with operations to improve profitability, reliability, safety, compliance, cost management, and system performance.

  • Evaluate market trends, customer needs, and hydrogen growth opportunities tied to decarbonization and the energy transition.

  • Support project development and negotiate long-term product supply agreements.

  • Build strong internal and external relationships while collaborating with operations, business development, EH&S, legal, finance, and accounting teams.

Required Skills

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand cash flow models, profitability drivers, and key financial metrics, including IRR, OROI, and NPV.

  • Ability to formulate and articulate winning strategies that create value for customers and the business.

  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand hydrogen feedstock sourcing, production, distribution, and fueling.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams to deliver timely customer-facing products, proposals, and business outcomes.

  • High ethical standards with the ability to act with integrity, think strategically, and align work with business priorities.

  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a lean organization.

  • Ability to learn quickly and work pragmatically to solve complex business and customer challenges.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Minimum Hiring Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering preferred; candidates with a non-technical degree must have strong technical sales or commercial experience and the ability to quickly learn the technical fundamentals of the HyCO business.

  • MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience in technical, operations, commercial, sales, or related roles.

  • At least 5 years of experience in a commercial or sales role.

  • Knowledge of chemical, petrochemical, and refining end markets, including emerging hydrogen markets driven by decarbonization and the energy transition.

  • Track record of identifying and successfully pursuing new opportunities that deliver profit, not just sales.

  • Ability to travel to customer sites, customer offices, and Air Products offices within the U.S.

  • Valid driver's license
