Overview

The General Manager (GM) of Orion's Roof is an elite hospitality leader responsible for orchestrating the daily operations of Virginia Beach's premier rooftop dining destination. Overseeing a high-volume, sophisticated environment characterized by high-end Asian-fusion cuisine, and an energetic, upscale lounge atmosphere, the GM ensures flawless guest satisfaction, driving operational and financial excellence.
Operating under a servant-leadership philosophy, the GM removes barriers to success for their staff, fosters a culture of rigorous accountability, and ensures that the physical asset, service standards, and brand presentation remain immaculate.

Operational Leadership & Guest Experience
* Seamless Execution: Coordinate and manage all brunch, lunch, dinner, and lounge operations to exceed guest expectations, ensuring seamless synergy between the front-of-house service team and the culinary team.
* Predictable Consistency: Implement and execute the Front of House Operating Plan, utilizing standard operating procedures (SOP's) to maintain an uncompromised level of service and predictability across every shift.
* Service Excellence: Proactively anticipate service gaps. Use root-cause analysis and swift corrective actions to resolve guest issues, respond to dining trends, and constantly elevate the guest experience.
* Atmosphere Control: Maintain compliance with Service Standards Initiative (SSI) documentation, strictly auditing lighting, music tempo, and table settings to match specific meal periods and the distinct night-to-day vibes of Orion's Roof.
Team Management & Servant Leadership
* Culture of Accountability: Cultivate an environment rooted in mentorship, mutual respect, open communication, and high performance. Lead by example on the floor.
* Talent Pipeline: Manage scheduling and onboarding in coordination with Human Resources to attract, retain, and motivate a top-tier hospitality team.
* Rigorous Training: Conduct and document mandatory menu, beverage, alcohol awareness(RSVP) and service tests for all staff, ensuring deep technical knowledge of the complex Asian-fusion menu, wine/sake pairings, and premium craft cocktail programs.
* Performance Management: Empower, interview, hire, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, provide open communications and recommend discipline and termination, as appropriate.
Financial Oversight & Supply Chain Management
* Fiscal Accountability: Forecast, monitor, control, and report on the restaurant's budget. Proactively manage labor costs, food and beverage costs, and operating expenses to maximize profitability without compromising the guest experience.
* Menu & Cost Analysis: Analyze financial statements, POS metrics, and menu/beverage costing data to make strategic adjustments. Recommend calculated operational improvements to senior leadership.
* Asset Protection: Order, inventory, and maintain prescribed PAR levels for elite service ware, specific glassware, and operating supplies. Strictly control security, breakage, and shrinkage.
* Sanitation & Quality Assurance: Complete comprehensive Food & Beverage QA inspections and enforce rigid maintenance and sanitation guidelines to protect the physical resort asset and maintain perfect compliance with local health regulations and corporate QA standards.
Marketing, Branding & Market Share
* Local Market Capture: Create, recommend, and implement innovative localized promotions, high-end activations, and lounge initiatives to capture an expanded share of the local market and maximize in-house resort guest capture.
* Collateral & Presentation: Promote curated marketing efforts, ensuring immaculate display and stock of menus, digital assets, and brand-approved collateral.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience & Knowledge
* Proven Track Record: 3+ to 5+ years of full employment as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager in a high-volume, high-end luxury restaurant or premium resort outlet.
* Culinary & Beverage Savvy: Deep industry knowledge of high-end restaurant practices, comprehensive beverage costing, and sophisticated wine/beer/spirits programs. Specific exposure to premium sake, high-end Asian flavor profiles, and premium dining formats is highly preferred.
* Resort Operations: Thorough understanding of hotel/resort dynamics, including local tourism trends, security/safety programs, personnel relations, and quality assurance metrics.
