The Director of Operations is responsible for the day to day functioning of Perioperative Services and the Digestive Health Service Line located at the YNHH campuses, Ambulatory Surgery Centers and Endoscopy Centers. This integral role supports the operations required to support the delivery of superior interdisciplinary patient and family centered care within the context of the organization's mission, vision and values. Reporting directly to the Vice President for Surgical Services, and to the Vice President for the Digestive Health Service Line in collaboration with the Clinical Chief/Executive Director and Vice Chair for Anesthesia, the incumbent will facilitate the implementation of strategic and business plans for major programs and initiatives across the enterprise. This individual is responsible for case scheduling, charging functions, IT infrastructure, equipment, facility projects and capital budgets. The individual in this position will contribute to shaping the entire Perioperative and Digestive Health enterprises and will be charged with promoting a culture that emphasizes world class patient and family centered care that ensures exquisite communications, cost efficiency, patient/family and provider satisfaction.

Responsibilities
- 1. Business Strategy
- 1.1 Collaborate with leadership to define Perioperative Services and Digestive Health's evolving vision based on market needs, program strengths, and synergy.
- 2. Operations
- 2.1 Leads facility projects to support strategic planning efforts from design through construction and occupancy.
- 3. Fiscal Management
- 3.1 Assists the VP of Surgical Services and the Digestive Health Service Line with the development of the annual budget.
- 4. Human Resources Management
- 4.1 Reinforces an environment, in collaboration with other disciplines and departments, where mutual respect, cultural diversity, teamwork, quality improvement, collegiality and learning are priority values.
- 5. Organizational Leadership
- 5.1 Accepts 24-hour/365 day responsibility for the daily operations of Perioperative and Digestive Health Procedure Departments.
- 6. Customer Satisfaction
- 6.1 Collaborates with the VPs of Perioperative and Digestive Health Services to implement a method to measure customer satisfaction and develops customer service standards reflecting excellence, consistent with YNHH policy for internal and external customers.
- 7. Outcomes Management
- 7.1 Supports the VPs of Surgical and Digest Health Services to ensure complete and constant regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
EDUCATION Bachelors degree required, Master's degree preferred EXPERIENCE Seven to ten years of increasingly responsible managerial experience in a health care setting, with a minimum of at three to five years of experience in a procedural setting. SPECIAL SKILLS Demonstrated skills in successful communication, conflict resolution, delegation, operations, project management, facilities planning, and collaboration across complex healthcare settings in an academic environment.
