We have an ambitious vision and a complex portfolio of programs that enable Tesla's future. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to join our team. The Inventory Analyst is a mid-level technical role within the Inventory Control & Quality Assurance team, responsible for building and maintaining the data pipelines, integrations, and reporting tools that power inventory accuracy and reconciliation across a complex, multi-node supply chain environment. Operating independently across ERP, WMS, and 3PL data sources, this role serves as the critical data foundation for cross-functional partners in Finance, Accounting, Operations, and Analytics. The ideal candidate brings hands-on data engineering experience and the ability to translate operational inventory challenges into scalable, reliable data solutions.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes that ingest, transform, and deliver inventory and quality data across internal systems, 3PL partners, and warehouse management platforms
Write and optimize SQL queries, data models, and schemas to support inventory reconciliation, reporting, and analytics use cases internally and across partnerships with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams - Support the architecture and management of inventory data infrastructure, including data warehouses and reporting layers, ensuring accuracy and reliability across core inventory datasets
- Collaborate with Inventory Control, Analytics, and Systems teams to define data requirements, investigate discrepancies, and contribute to automated alerting that flags inventory anomalies and data quality issues
- Assist in the integration and standardization of inventory data across ERP systems, WMS platforms, and third-party feeds, working toward a consistent and trustworthy source of record
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and self-serve data tools that help cross-functional stakeholders monitor inventory health, track KPIs, and support day-to-day operational decisions
- Contribute to data governance, documentation, and quality standards across inventory datasets, ensuring data is well-documented, traceable, and consistently maintained
What You'll Bring
- 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related role - ideally within supply chain, logistics, or inventory operations
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language (Python preferred) for data transformation, automation, and pipeline development
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and data pipeline tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Spark, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Vertica, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or Redshift
- Working knowledge of ERP or WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan) and how inventory data flows through operational systems
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to investigate data discrepancies, identify root causes, and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience building and maintaining dashboards or reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus

Expected Compensation
$62,640 - $93,960/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
