POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vice President, Financial Operations & Workforce Management delivers high-impact strategic and operational support to Regional CFOs by strengthening income statement ownership and driving disciplined financial and operational management practices. The VP standardizes operating routines, including monthly reviews, weekly projections, and budget-to-actual analysis, to improve accountability and financial outcomes. The role leads workforce management and revenue cycle performance to align staffing, productivity, and cash flow with enterprise objectives. Through dashboards, KPIs, and AI-enabled analytics, the VP enhances decision-making, automation, and performance visibility. The role also builds organizational capability and fosters a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.


Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic and operational support to Regional CFOs to enhance financial performance and decision-making.
  • Partners with finance leaders to ensure ownership and accountability of income statements, driving improved visibility and performance outcomes.
  • Leads and standardizes monthly operating reviews, ensuring disciplined analysis of financial and operational performance.
  • Drives weekly forecasting and projection processes to improve accuracy, agility, and responsiveness to changing business conditions.
  • Oversees and supports annual budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and financial targets.
  • Provides leadership and oversight of workforce management strategies, including labor planning, productivity benchmarks, and staffing optimization.
  • Collaborates with operational leaders to align staffing models with volume, acuity, and financial performance objectives.
  • Implements best practices in workforce analytics and labor cost management.
  • Leverages deep knowledge of revenue cycle operations to optimize cash flow, reimbursement, and overall financial performance while identifying improvements across billing, collections, coding, and payer performance.
  • Establishes and enforces disciplined operating routines, including monthly operating reviews, weekly performance projections, and budget-to-actual reviews, while conducting service line performance analysis to drive growth, margin improvement, and operational efficiencies.
  • Develops and deploys standardized performance dashboards, KPIs, and AI-enabled analytics to enhance forecasting, automate reporting, improve predictive modeling, and streamline workflows.
  • Educates and coaches finance and operational leaders, building organizational capability in financial literacy, operational rigor, data-driven decision-making, and fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in finance, operations, or enterprise services within healthcare or a complex multi-site organization, including 5+ years as CFO
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting senior finance leaders and implementing enterprise-wide financial routines and disciplines
  • Proven expertise in workforce management and labor optimization strategies
  • Strong background in financial operations and revenue cycle management
  • Deep understanding of financial statements, budgeting and forecasting, and operational analytics
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Strong communication and change management capabilities

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Master's degree in finance, business administration, or related field
