For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead. Your Team, Your Impact
Marvell's Global Marketing organization mission is to deliver impactful outcomes and services that elevate our brand, captivate our target audiences, and exceed stakeholder expectations. The organization encompasses corporate communications, digital, events, social, analyst relations, marketing research, and portfolio marketing. We collaborate closely with Marvell's business units, investor relations, finance, HR, and executive staff to ensure our messaging and positioning resonate effectively with diverse global audiences.
What You Can Expect The Sr. Director, Market Intelligence & Analyst Relations is a newly created, high-visibility role. You will build and lead the function that serves as Marvell's authoritative source on where the market is going and what it means for Marvell. In this role you will continuously absorb signals from the outside world, assess their relevance and impact to Marvell, and translate them into clear, decision-relevant points of view - setting the intelligence vision for the company while maintaining a bias for execution. You will align business units, finance, investor relations, and executive leadership around a single, defensible market view, driving decisions at the highest levels of the company. Market Sizing & Analysis
- Own and continuously refine Marvell's TAM/SAM models across key end markets including cloud data infrastructure, carrier networking, and enterprise - using both bottoms-up and top-down methodologies.
- Develop and maintain a market segmentation framework that aligns with Marvell's product portfolio and business units.
- Synthesize data from analyst firms (Dell'Oro, LightCounting, and others), customer inputs, and primary research to produce defensible market size estimates.
- Build scenario models to project market growth under varying demand, technology adoption, and competitive conditions.
- Present market analysis to executive leadership, the Board, and investors in support of earnings calls, strategic planning cycles, and M&A diligence.
Primary & Secondary Research
- Identify and define a set of key business questions (KBQs) in partnership with senior leadership that form the standing intelligence agenda; design research programs - targeted, ongoing, and ad hoc - to continuously address them.
- Design and lead primary research programs - including customer surveys, executive interviews, and partner ecosystem studies - to generate proprietary market insight that supplements third-party analyst data.
- Commission and manage external research vendors, agencies, and specialist consultants; define research briefs, establish contractual terms that protect Marvell's rights to use findings in public presentations, regulatory filings, and other contexts; oversee quality and ensure outputs meet Marvell's analytical standards.
- Build a systematic secondary research function tracking trade press, academic and technical publications, patent filings, government datasets, and earnings transcripts across the semiconductor and infrastructure ecosystem; candidates should bring deep familiarity with both market intelligence firms and financial, academic, and technical toolkits.
- Translate raw research findings into structured intelligence products - market briefs, trend reports, and landscape analyses - consumed by product, sales, and executive stakeholders.
- Establish research methodology standards and documentation practices to ensure reproducibility and credibility of findings across the team.
Analytics & Data Infrastructure
- Develop and maintain dashboards and data pipelines that track key market indicators, competitive metrics, and analyst sentiment over time; architect the Market Intelligence function as an enterprise system - the central source of truth for the intelligence layer across Marvell.
- Define KPIs for market share, customer adoption trends, and technology penetration; integrate these into business unit reviews, strategic planning, and where applicable, supply-chain and operational metrics tracking - establishing market intelligence data as equally credible alongside financial metrics.
- Apply quantitative and statistical methods - regression analysis, forecasting models, cohort analysis - to surface non-obvious patterns in market and customer data.
- Partner with Business Intelligence teams to ensure market data assets are properly structured, governed, and accessible to stakeholders across Marvell.
- Evaluate and manage the suite of data subscriptions and analytics tools used by the team (e.g., Bloomberg, S&P Global, IDC trackers, FactSet).
- Champion an AI-forward approach to market intelligence - leveraging AI tools and platforms to scale research synthesis, competitive monitoring, and insight delivery; candidates without a clear vision for AI-enabled MI will be at a disadvantage.
Analyst Relations
- Serve as Marvell's primary relationship owner with Tier 1 technology analyst firms including Gartner, IDC, Forrester, Omdia, Dell'Oro, LightCounting, and emerging specialist firms covering semiconductors and AI networking.
- Develop and execute an annual analyst relations strategy aligned to Marvell's key narratives and product launches; proactively position Marvell in research reports, evaluation frameworks, and market forecasts before they publish.
- Plan and lead executive briefings, inquiry calls, and analyst days - preparing spokespeople, ensuring messaging consistency, and building long-term credibility with the analyst community.
- Cultivate strategic inbound relationships with select analyst partners who can engage directly in internal strategy sessions and business planning processes - bringing outside-in perspective to Marvell's most consequential decisions.
- Monitor and respond to analyst coverage; proactively address gaps or inaccuracies in published research and track program effectiveness through sentiment, mention volume, and competitive placement metrics.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with emerging analyst voices in high-growth coverage areas aligned to Marvell's expansion in AI infrastructure and silicon photonics.
Competitive Intelligence
- Track and synthesize competitive positioning, market share shifts, and technology roadmap signals across Marvell's key competitors.
- Produce regular competitive intelligence reports and ad hoc deep dives for product and sales leadership.
- Maintain a structured win/loss framework in partnership with Sales Operations; surface patterns that inform product strategy and go-to-market decisions.
Cross-Functional Influence & Team Leadership
- Partner with Product Management to validate addressable market assumptions underlying roadmap investments; serve as the market evidence base for portfolio decisions.
- Translate TAM/SAM data and research findings into compelling customer- and investor-facing content in partnership with portfolio marketing and communications teams.
- Work with Finance on the annual strategic planning process, ensuring market models and research outputs are integrated into financial planning and Board materials.
- Support Business Development and M&A with market analysis and due diligence research for target evaluation and deal rationale.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team spanning market intelligence, research, and analyst relations; foster a culture of analytical rigor, intellectual curiosity, and stakeholder impact.
- Own the function's budget and resource allocation; manage vendor contracts, data subscriptions, and agency relationships to maximize program ROI.
- Establish program operating cadences, reporting mechanisms, and OKRs that provide transparency and accountability across the MI/AR function.
