Position Summary
We are seeking dependable and responsible Construction Inspectors to support upcoming civil and roadway projects across Oahu. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while representing our team with professionalism.The Construction Inspector will perform daily field inspections, ensure contractor work meets project requirements, and maintain clear, accurate documentation. This role requires extensive outdoor fieldwork, interaction with contractors and project teams, and adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Confirm contractor work meets all applicable codes, contract documents, and safety requirements.
* Research project information, document findings, and promptly report discrepancies to the Project Manager/Engineer/Inspection Supervisor.
* Inspect, measure, and issue delivery receipts for materials delivered and used on the project.
* Prepare routine inspection reports, including data on materials, time, issues, concerns, and other projectrelated matters.
* Review construction drawings to ensure proper materials, methods, and procedures are followed.
* Seek approval from the Project Manager/Engineer/Inspection Supervisor for any changes in project scope or additional inspection services.
* Perform job duties both in the field and in-office as required.
Required Qualifications
* Roadway experience required; DOT Highways (DOT Hwy) or Honolulu City & County (C&C) experience strongly preferred.
* Must be dependable, responsible, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to perform mathematical calculations and prepare clear written reports.
* Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods.
* Computer literate (Microsoft Office, tablets, field-reporting tools).
* Valid driver's license required.
* DOT-related certifications preferred.
Education & Experience
* High School Diploma required.
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field may substitute for experience.
* Demonstrated experience in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and production for various construction project types.
* Construction experience, including familiarity with construction activities, materials, and quality control processes.
* Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
