PROCESS ENGINEER (Temporary - 12 months) As a Process Engineer your responsibilities will include design, engineering, commissioning, new product introduction, testing, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and technical support for industrial facility systems, process equipment, machinery, and various processes for an industry-leading Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul organization for gas turbine engines and components. What you'll do:
Implement book repairs and source-controlled repairs, including interpreting and applying repair routings and rework process instructions. Develop, review, and implement tooling: identify off the shelf, in house, OEM or vendor tooling; coordinate design, procurement, qualification and deployment. Manage technical data and repair documentation: review/interpret technical repair manuals, maintain repair data, and communicate technical requirements to stakeholders. Coordinate industrialization activities between process engineers, production, quality and tooling to align resources and support implementation. Plan and manage repair industrialization projects using project management tools (e.g., Smartsheets, scheduling tools); estimate and document time for repairs, R&D, tooling and testing. Conduct testing and evaluation: design and run lab trials, scrap part testing for R&D, validate processes and document results for approval. Interface with OEMs to request/clarify technical data, obtain approvals for repairs, resolve technical issues and support development of alternate repair sources. Prepare business case evaluations: perform repair justification analyses (cost/benefit, rejection rates, feasibility) and develop supporting engineering reports/data packages. Execute FAI and qualification activities: draft routings and FAI plans, coordinate trials, finalize FAI packages and upload approvals to document control systems. Identify and establish improvement programs through root cause analysis (i.e., repair instructions, proper sequencing, inspection criteria, gauges, fixtures, machines, etc.), analysis of throughput, work in process, non-conformance tags (NCTs), material review board (MRBs), process interruptions, other line stoppages, warranty failure modes, field reliability of repairs, investigation of repair-related field problems, line build problems, and subcontractors' repair performance. Support equipment acquisition and safety: recommend equipment, establish safety considerations, and monitor equipment safety issues during implementation. Provide technical support and engineering ownership for various systems, machinery, and process equipment to support effective MRO processes.
