Compensation Range $78,659-112,090 The posted salary range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position. Actual starting salary will be based on qualifications, relevant experience, and internal equity considerations.
Summary
The Associate Director of Student Rights & Responsibilities serves as the primary case manager and outreach coordinator for the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities ( SRR). This position supports the director in the development and implementation of student procedures, policies and programs related to community standards (conduct), ASSIST Team (behavioral intervention), civil rights related complaints (Title IX, Title VI, etc.), and non-clinical support case management. They will serve as the primary case manager for the ASSIST Team and serve in a variety of roles within the college's civil rights response procedures to support issues involving students. The position will help enhance and implement both formal and informal procedures to adjudicate issues and address student support needs in a fair, equitable, and compliant manner. They support the director as a liaison between the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities, other campus departments and outside resources.
Essential Role Responsibilities
Adjudicate policy violation concerns, implement individualized intervention plans, address student behavior issues and review student concerns
* Implement adjudication procedures for alleged Code of Conduct and Academic Honesty violations
* Serves in a variety of roles related to addressing civil rights (Title IX, Title VI, etc) incidents. Roles may include but are not limited to: intake, advocate, investigator, decision maker, etc.
* Thoroughly investigate and respond to concerns in a timely and respectful manner
* Demonstrate professionalism when addressing concerns and maintain a high level of confidentiality
* Issue interim remedies and actions to effectively and efficiently address problematic behavior in a timely manner
* Coordinate the selection and training of Student Rights and Responsibilities Representatives (conduct board members) and other student hearing panel member pools
* Serve the primary Assist Team case manager and support meeting coordination
* Conduct individualized risk assessments and implement intervention plans.
* Provide coaching for students in need of navigating non-academic challenges impacting their educational experience
* Facilitate the resolution of student concerns with other college departments as appropriate and in accordance with established procedures
Serve as a campus resource and deliver high quality student education, support and advocacy regarding student behavior matters
* Develop and disseminate information about internal and external resources available to students
* Provide a safe and comfortable atmosphere for students, faculty and staff to engage with SRR services
* Provide information to students, faculty and staff outlining effective means of conflict management, campus behavior expectations and responding to students in distress
* Remain current in issues and best practices regarding student conduct, Title IX/VI, students of concern and student support
* Develop, implement, and assess both active and passive educational publications, programs and outreach that promote college behavior expectations, appropriate response to challenges, and other relevant student behavior topics
Support the development of student behavior policies and procedures

* Provide recommendations to the director regarding current student policy and process
* Participate in scheduled policy reviews
* Provide briefings to the director regarding issues affecting behavior policies, processes and best practices
* Produce reports and analysis regarding the campus climate and behavior at the college
Minimum Education Required Bachelor's degree
Experience Required
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
* Bachelor's degree in in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Conflict Management, Education, Legal Studies, Ethical Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Philosophy or another related field
* A minimum of three years' experience in an education-related environment providing student support services/programs and/or providing case management in a social services/counseling related capacity
* Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in student behavior response, intervention and support. Multiple areas of content experience (conduct, behavioral intervention, threat assessment, advising/coaching, civil rights response, etc.) preferred.
* Experience with case management.
* Experience developing, implementing and assessing programs and services
* Demonstrated empathetic regard for students, strong conflict resolution skills, creative problem solving, and critical thinking
* Demonstrated ability to access complex situations, render fair judgment, and maintain ethical and professional standards
* Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with college administrators, staff, faculty and students
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
* Ability to read, interpret and apply complex local, state, and federal compliance requirements
* Ability to research, analyze, interpret data, and report findings
* Ability to use and learn technology tools. Experience with Maxient preferred.
* Excellent organizational skills required, including ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines, while providing exemplary customer service
* Understanding of issues impacting diverse populations and demonstrated ability to support individuals with diverse needs
OTHER REQURIEMENTS
* Master's degree in in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Conflict Management, Education, Legal Studies, Ethical Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Philosophy or another related field preferred.
* Knowledge and experience with implementing strategies for effective student crisis intervention and developing crisis response strategies preferred
* Knowledge of/experience with mediation, facilitation, conflict coaching, restorative justice or other conflict management techniques preferred
* Knowledge of/experience with Title IX, Title IV and other civil rights higher education compliance preferred
* Knowledge of/experience with student conduct and/or administrating adjudication/formal decision-making processes preferred
* Knowledge of the compliance regulations impacting higher education to include: Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 ( FERPA), Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX), Violence Against Women ( VAWA) Act, Campus Sexual Violence Elimination (SaVE) Act, Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 preferred

LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING
The college's required training program, annual Title IX training, civil rights investigator certification, threat assessment certification, other training that supports expertise in student behavior management, crisis management, risk reduction

College policies and procedures, manuals, and publications (catalogue, student handbook, credit and non-credit schedule of classes, brochures, advertisements, and forms), industry publications and resources, campus display monitor manuals and updates, Colleague and other computer software/hardware/peripheral manuals

Physical Demand Summary
Fast-paced, deadline-driven working environment. Concurrent management of numerous tasks, some with conflicting priorities. Periodic local and distance travel. Some evening and weekend hours required. Flexibility required. Regular in-person attendance is a requirement for this position.
